With the 3G iPhone rumored to be well on it’s way, there is no shortage of related rumors, and this post is another. Richard Gardner and Yeechang Lee of Citi believe that Steve will announce the 3G iPhone as part of his WWDC keynote from June 9th to the 13th, revealing the new phone as part of his keynote address. As predicted, Steve Jobs used the opening keynote at WWDC 2008 to announce the new iPhone 3G. With a new, slicker casing than the first-gen iPhone, together with HSDPA for high-speed connectivity, the upgraded model will go on sale on July 11th priced from an astonishing $199.latest mobile phones
The iPhone 3G has all of the new iPhone 2.0 functionality, including Enterprise support for Exchange, as well as the newly announced MobileMe service. That’s been described as “Exchange for the rest of us”, and for $99 a year you get instant synchronisation of email, calendar and contacts, as well as pictures and 20GB online backup, between iPhone, Mac and PC. They’ve also developed a very slick Web 2.0 client that behaves just like Apple’s desktop apps.

Top of my list would be a dedicated Gmail client, similar to the Java version that Google already offers for other mobile phones including Blackberries. However, more ambitious would be a mobile client for Google Docs enabling spreadsheets and other text-based documents to be created and edited on the go. Another possibility might be a native client for Google-owned Blogger, along with support for the company’s photo-sharing site Picasa.
